Kabul, February 24-26, 2004

Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs Paula J. Dobriansky led the U.S. delegation to the fourth meeting of the U.S.-Afghan Women's Council, February 24-26 in Kabul.  Members of the U.S. delegation met with Afghan teachers and visited several schools in Afghanistan, including the future site of a women's teacher training college to be established by the American University of Kabul. The delegation also visited a women's health center and met with Afghan officials concerning women's health issues.
